We completed our hot stone practical assessment Monday morning and Salon Day filled our afternoon with some much needed hands on experience.
Its last week of term, and quite a few of our classmates have come down with the flu. Every student has worked hard this semester and it’s a great feeling to now see the light at the end of the tunnel…along with a little rest in sight. On our last day of term 3 we are finishing in style with a Design and Apply Makeup, & Photographic Makeup practical and written assessments.
Talking about makeup, last week’s introduction to makeup was heaps of fun – we started the day applying a full face of makeup on each other, and then experimented with different lighting and colours to see the impact it has on the make up when a photo was taken. We used side front and back lighting, coloured backdrops and coloured lenses. We were amazed how some techniques complimented the photo and makeup, and how others looked just wrong! FYI – green looks horrible as a backdrop and when used as a lens! Check out the photos below of the beautiful Naomi Gastigar with make up done by the talented Lavan Dohne.
We can’t believe that there are no assignments to complete during our spring holiday break – I suspect our teacher has overlooked something however there is no way any of us are going to ask in case she remembers! Looking forward to enjoying this awesome weather for the next two weeks!!
