What a fantastic holiday! No assignments & lots of beautiful weather = pumped to be back ready to finish off the last 10 weeks of my Diploma of Beauty Therapy.
The start to term has brought a new line of skincare products to Demi. We kicked off Term 4 with some training on ASAP Skin Products training booked until lunch. ASAP is a very well-known skin product range and we are all very excited to use it. The school is also a stockist.
For more information about these fantastic products check out the ASAP website here:

We are covering 3 spa topics in the next module – Plan spa, Provide Spa and Work in a Spa Therapies Framework. (3 workbooks, but only 1 combined exam thankfully!!)
It’s all about the pre-treatment process…so the initial consultation, listening and assisting clients with advice and providing recommendations. Also an integral part of a spa experience is the ‘flow’ i.e. how to make a treatment flow and be most beneficial for the client.
During this module we also cover spa history, ie the days of communal bath houses like Turkish Baths and Roman Baths etc. We have been exploring the many water therapies (hydro tub, hydro capsule, Vichy shower – like the one we saw at Waterfall Day Spa, and others) and dry treatments (i.e. exfoliations done without the need of a specialised room, such as exfoliation & use hot towels etc.) that we can offer our clients.
It hasn’t been too much of a big first week but knowing that there is a written assessment scheduled for next week, and 3 assignments attached to this unit, the holiday is definitely over!! Our trainer was nice enough to give us the tip that it’s going to be a big term for assignments – I just keep telling myself that its only 10 weeks!
