At Demi International, we believe that a career in beauty is a vocation. Regardless of your age, background, and qualifications, commitment and a drive to succeed are essential to succeeding as a beauty therapist. For some people, this calling and willingness to commit to a career in beauty come earlier in life than for others.
If you’re in the final years of high school, you may be eligible to complete a beauty therapy course at Demi International while you finish your studies. Under the new Queensland high school curriculum, completing a VET course can help you graduate with your High School Certificate (QCE) and an industry-recognised qualification in beauty – putting you on the fast-track to a rewarding beauty career. Read on to discover how you could become a makeup artist or beauty therapist as you study.

2. Make arrangements with your school
Once you’ve chosen which beauty course you’d like to complete, liaise with the careers advisor or course coordinator at your school to arrange your timetable. Most schools will allow you to exchange classes with studying at one of our 3 campuses for one day a week. If you enrol in a Diploma in Beauty Therapy or other diploma course, you may also be eligible to receive 8 out of the 20 necessary credits for your Senior Certificate upon completion.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we offer VET student loans for up to 86% of tuition fees for eligible students. Find out if you’re eligible here.
3. Complete your course while you study
To complete your beauty course, you’ll need to attend class on campus one day a week for a year. Simply choose the campus that is the most convenient for you and attend all necessary lectures, workshops, and tutorials.
At the end of the year you’ll graduate with an industry-recognised qualification in beauty therapy, makeup artistry, or remedial massage, not to mention plenty of industry connections and new friends.
