Belinda Spiteri has been an educator at Demi International since January 2013. Over her career Belinda has immersed herself in the industry with experience as a Beauty Therapist, Spa Therapist, College Educator, Spa Manager, Salon Owner and Skin Care Promoter.
Straight out of school she studied a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and over the years studied Holistic Kinesiology, Reiki, and endless amounts of skin care product courses.
Belinda says the best thing about her current role is that she ‘gets to meet a range of dynamic personalities, and help them overcome personal barriers. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge of an industry I am so passionate about. Seeing my students grow from start to finish is the most rewarding part of all’. The downside to being a teacher? The never ending pile of marking!
Career highlights include working at the beautiful 5 star day spa Qualia on Hamilton Island, and the flexibility of taking her career overseas working for Dermalogica in London.
When asked what she would do it she wasn’t a Beauty Therapist, she claims she would be a (very good and wealthy) musician…
Her advice to those thinking about a career in the beauty industry:
Volunteer your time in a busy salon/spa to gain a clearer insight into the beauty industry and ask the employees about all of the pros and cons. If you’re still convinced it’s for you then be prepared for an exciting and rewarding career with the best collection of beauty products known to (wo)man!
